Cheshire-based national developer Jones Homes has been in business since 1959, building attractive homes in desirable locations.

In addition to its residential portfolio encompassing apartments, townhouses and detached homes, the group owns and manages over £1 billion of commercial real estate. Jones in particular enjoys a niche in handling restoration projects, converting listed buildings to meet modern demand.

Project brief

Jones Homes and Mican Plastering worked together on Cold Arbor Farm to deliver a modern renovation which complemented the much older fabric of the buildings. Renovating and converting an existing barn and farmhouse, a further new-build property was erected on the site of an old stables.

With a luxurious finish and located in a highly desirable corner of Cheshire, Cold Arbor Farm’s three homes have been delivered with great care. In particular, The Farmhouse and The Barn are Grade II listed buildings, requiring particular attention to sympathetic restoration.

Mican Plastering’s services

In addition to dry lining the new-build property, Mican Plastering’s team utilised its years of industry experience and knowledge to undertake a traditional lime plaster application within the old farmhouse and barn.

Working within the old building, and in some places with old wattle and daub, our teams erected some wall lining systems to straighten walls before combining new modern styling with old features, beams and a lime plaster finish.

Project completion

This distinctive and unique project was completed in 2017 following 12 months of specialist on site work.

The quality finish was achieved through care and attention to detail, and our team at all times was driven to deliver a high-end result that complemented the client’s design.
