Mican Plastering has invested in a package of mental health support to aid the wellbeing of its plastering contractor teams throughout the North West.

With a widespread team working on sites across Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire, Mican Plastering invests continually in the health, safety and wellbeing of personnel to ensure a supported and cohesive workforce with access to quality resources.

Investing in mental wellbeing for the construction sector

Following investment earlier in the year in our Citation health and safety package, we identified a further need to provide specific tools to further the mental wellbeing of Mican's plastering contractor workforce. With a predominantly male workforce common throughout the construction sector, mental wellbeing for our team is focused on encouraging take up of support when it's needed and creating an openness in conversations around mens' mental health.

Research shows that around one in eight men in England has a common mental health problem. Mican Plastering is committed to ensuring our people - of any gender - have access to the help, tools and support they need to overcome challenges such as depression, anxiety and other challenges.

This latest investment by Mican Plastering takes a lead in tackling mental health for a small construction sector business, providing practical tools, access to support and guidance for our supervisors in identifying and managing mental wellbeing in the workplace.
